If your household appliances wrote love songs while you were away on vacation, their cheerful blips and bleeps would pour out the windows, sweep through the neighborhood like candy-coated tidal waves, and you would return home to find crowds of people standing on your lawn, clapping and singing along to the happiest pop melodies imaginable. Welcome to Owl City.

So it's been awhile. But I've been so busy. I've been gone since like July 1st. Other than vacation I've been up to practically nothing. I saw HP6 the other day at midnight. It was pretty good.

I'm also really into Next to Normal and Hair right now. More so Hair though. I'm hopefully going to New York to catch these shows and some in two weeks.

Also, I feel like I need to let my anger out. That movie I was talking about featuring Laura Linney and James McAvoy...well, it seems James has been replaced. By fucking Tobey Maguire. One place said this: "Maguire's a global name and it will have helped them secure the finance they couldn't get with McAvoy." I mean what the fuck? I don't even know what to think. Just furious...

Summer is finally here. WOOO. I've been pretty lazy the past week. I've gone to bed very late every night and slept in til 12 or 1. I haven't done much except see movies. I've seen Star Trek twice and Angels & Demons. Both are very good movies that I highly recommend.

My plans for the summer are looking pretty good. A bunch of Cardinals games, Six Flags, Holiday World, White Rafting, Cedar Point, Atlanta with the fam, and a whole bunch of other things. Oh, and babysitting everyday which is not really all that fun. The weather has been fluctuating. I hope it remains hot.

And Glee premiered last Tuesday. I'd already seen the full 55 minute version before I watched it on tv. I didn't like some of the cuts they made, but it's fine. I love the show. Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison are fantastic. So looking forward to the new season in the fall.

I just found out that Laura Linney and James McAvoy are going to be in a movie together. Fucking brilliant. I couldn't be more excited for this.

So I now have my prom dress...I like it, I guess. It's the only dress that I was able to find that I liked and actually looked good on.

Just ignore the extra material behind the dress. It's strapless, obviously. So tell me what you think because I need feedback! Good or bad, haha.

And I can't believe Natasha Richardson just died. I am in complete shock right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to Liam and their family. Wow.

You Can Count On Me has arrived so I'm super happy about watching that.  I've also watched Part 1 of John Adams and it's amazing. I just have to set apart time to actually sit down and watch it so I won't be distracted.

I'm a very happy person right now. There's no other way to describe it. I'm just happy.

I thought I was excited for prom, but I'm realizing how strange it's going to be with the fact that my boyfriend and I don't exactly have the same friends. Oh well, we'll make it work. I know the dress that I want so now all I have to do is go find it Friday and hope it looks okay. :)

I'm really depressed about this huge hiatus for cw shows. Gossip Girl isn't new until March 16, and 90210 isn't new until March 31. LAME. But at least they look really exciting. I'm watching Heroes at the moment. I'm trying to get all caught up so I can watch the new season. It's a good thing I own season 1.

And congrats to Kate Winslet for her Oscar win. Also to Slumdog Millionaire which deserved everything they won. <3

I am happy. :D

my ramblings about  )

My dear friend, Lesley, and I went to see The Reader on Saturday and I loved it. Kate Winslet was fantastic (oh yeah, congrats to her BAFTA win!) as was the rest of the cast especially Ralph Fiennes, who I've grown to like a lot. I saw Taken sometime last week I think. Liam Neeson is kind of amazing. That man can do no wrong. *rushes to go watch Love Actually*

I still have to go stalk the library for John Adams. HOLY SHIT, it says available RIGHT NOW! Okay now I'm off to the library....

So supposedly our small city of Paducah was on the National News, but of course we can't see it because we don't have fucking cable. I also don't have the internet so I'm hanging out at the hospital outside of Starbucks as I type this. What is also lame is the fact that our school was the only school to go back to school today. I guess it's not really that big of a deal. The county and city are supposed to go back tomorrow. I only lost power for what I think was 2 1/2 days. It got down to like 40 degrees in my house. I ended up bringing the mattress from my bed downstairs and put it in front of the fire. That's where I slept all last week.

Because of our lack of cable I was unable to watch Gossip Girl last night. So I'm trying to download it right now, but it seems to be taking a long fucking time. It says that there's an hour left in the download and it's only Part 1 of the episode. I really don't want to sit in here for another 2 hours waiting for this damn thing to download. (In case you can't tell I'm in a cussing mood because of my lack of sleep/internet/cable...please forgive me).

So I was unable to see The Reader this weekend but I might be going sometime this week or this weekend hopefully. My date was also canceled and will hopefully happen this weekend instead. We were going to see The Uninvited I think. Ehhh....So I'm tempted to drive to Illinois this weekend to go see Revolutionary Road. I desperately want to see this. The only problem is that I don't know if anyone wants to go with me and I don't think my parents want me driving there alone. Fuck. I just happened to check times for The Reader and it's only open til Thursday so we are definitely going sometime in the next two days. And Rachel Getting Married is coming so I'm excited for that as well. (22%!!!)

Well I think I've rambled enough.

Best dressed at the SAGs: Kate Winslet & Laura Linney
Love those two to death! Congrats to both of them on their awards!

So last week in English we read this story called The Lottery. It was basically about this small town and how they have this big lottery every year. They end up stoning the person who drew out the piece of paper with a black dot on it. It's this crazy story. Anyways, today our teacher decided that we were going to have our own lottery, woooo. One of my best friends, James, was the one with the black dot. I felt so bad for him because he hates attention. Then, we all had to throw "stones" - aka wads of paper - at him. It was sad.

Apparently we're supposed to get massive amounts of ice tonight and tomorrow. I really hope we don't have school because I need more time for my homework and studying. But right now there is nothing happening! ICE NOW DAMMIT! I just checked weather.com and there is a 31% chance of rain at 11 pm and a 90% chance at 5 am tomorrow morning. If the weather men are wrong I'm going to be pissed off. Maybe I shouldn't show up for school tomorrow.

Plans for this weekend (preferably Friday) : Lesley, my sister, and I go out to eat downtown, then we go ice-skating, and then go see The Reader, yay!! I'm really excited! I also found out that Revolutionary Road is playing about an hour away from here so I hope to make the drive sometime in the next few weeks.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire last night. I have to say that it was pretty good. It was sad, but happy. The dance number during the credits was great.

Right now I'm putting off doing my pre-cal homework. I'm watching Van Helsing, but not really paying attention so I have no clue what's going on. I'm going ice-skating tonight, yay.

Next weekend I'm going to see The Reader which I am extremely excited for. Wooo.

Looking for to the SAG awards tonight!

Today is my birthday! Wooo. Ten times better than last year. But I don't want to talk about my birthday because it's almost over.

So I'm all pumped up for Award Season '09. The Golden Globes are already passed and congrats to Kate Winslet and Laura Linney especially! I'm going to have a Laura Linney marathon. I've already watched The Squid and the Whale which was pretty good. Up soon are P.S., Dave, The Hottest State, The Savages, Jindabyne, Mystic River, Man of the Year, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, You Can Count On Me, Love Actually, and The Nanny Diaries. I have to wait until half of them are available at the library. I'm trying to wait patiently, but I'm not good at being patient much.

Out of all the movies I'm excited about seeing soon (The Reader, Bride Wars, Defiance, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire, He's Just Not That Into You, The Proposal, The Ugly Truth, New In Town), I am most excited for Revolutionary Road. Kate Winslet is just amazing as is Leo. Also Kathryn Hahn is in it and I LOVE her. I have to be careful though because if I get really excited for a movie I tend to be let down. Though not with Pirates or Australia. We shall wait and see.

Also I'm getting a video of Laura Linney & Liam Neeson in The Crucible! YESSS. I'm also getting a Playbill from the show, thank you Ebay!! So excited! :D

Merry Christmas to all! So I'm not sure that it ever really felt like Christmas with the lack of snow and the lack of Christmas lights I saw. Let's see...what did I get for Christmas? Some DVDs, Spring Awakening: IN THE FLESH, Season 1 of Gossip Girl, freaking awesome massive Australia movie poster, a purse, Guitar Hero, and other things.

So my life just keeps getting randomer. A certain ex-boyfriend has ben talking to me recently...pretty interesting stuff considering I haven't had a true conversation with him since 6th grade (those were the days). I'm not saying this is a bad thing, just random and interesting. Oh what to do, what to do.

I'm excited because my awesome cousins are coming in a few days. Yay for cousins!

Wow, so there is a lot to be taken in. So much stuff has appeared on the broadway world that I don't know if I can handle.

1.) MATTHEW SETTLE SANG AT THE WICKED BENEFIT CONCERT LAST NIGHT. Still freaking out about that.
2.) He came out after the show and signed. I don't know what I would've said to him if I was there.
3.) Lauren Graham on Broadway '09?! Yesss. Who knew that girl could sing?
4.) James McAvoy on stage in London '09?!?! Woot. (Lesley, let's go.) It's only running from Feb. - May. :(
5.) Kat Tokarz was announced to be in White Christmas, yay for her!
6.) Spring Awakening is closing January 18. WTF??

Party on Friday. Should be interesting.

The Idina Menzel Concert was amazing. One of the greatest nights of my life. She's hysterical, amazing live, and incredibly nice. She was nice enough to take the time to sign for everyone after the show. She has easily become one of my favorite performers.

And I'm pissed off at the moment. I got my schedule today and it has me down for Anatomy/Physiology instead of Physics. This seriously pisses me off. My future is at stake here. I hope its able to be changed.
